A draft agenda (PDF) is now published for the October 7 meeting of the Executive Council of the Delaware Geographic Data Committee (DGDC).
The group will continue its work on a draft Business Plan to achieve the goals outlined in the Geospatial Strategic Plan for Delaware (PDF) that was approved by the Executive Council in July and reviewed with the full DGDC membership at the September 23 quarterly DGDC meeting.

A draft agenda has been posted for the July 8 meeting of the DGDC Executive Council. The draft agenda (PDF) includes continued work on the draft Delaware GIS Strategic Plan and a draft Business Plan to carry out the first recommendation of that Strategic Plan.
The Executive Council will also hear about on-going data-development and data-sharing projects, consider draft metadata and parcel polygon standards proposed by the Delaware Geographic Data Committee as a whole, and consider the creation of a new Transportation Data Subcommittee.
The DGDC Executive Council is a high-level council to help coordinate the activities of the Delaware Geographic Data Committee (DGDC). It includes representatives from the some of the major Delaware cabinet agencies involved in GIS data, the federal government, Delaware’s counties and the DGDC at-large.

The National States Geographic Information Council (NSGIC) plans a “virtual conference” session, via WebEx webcast, on the National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) on Tuesday, April 27. We will offer two viewing opportunities for this webcast: one in Dover and one in Newark.

The 2010 Delaware-Maryland APA Regional Conference will feature a pair of intensive training sessions focused on the use of GIS and geospatial tools in local, county and state government planning and other management functions. A morning workshop on May 5 will focus on GIS applications within the City of Dover, Delaware, while an afternoon session that same day will focus on GIS applications within Maryland.
The conference — Creating Liveable Communities For All Ages: From Theory To Reality — will run from May 5 through May 7 at the Rollins Conference Center at Dover Downs, in Dover, Delaware. It is co-sponsored by the Delaware and Maryland chapters of the American Planning Association, by AIA Delaware, and by AARP Delaware.

A draft agenda (PDF) has been posted for the April 8 meeting of the DGDC Executive Council.The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 8, starting at 10:00 a.m. in Room 219 of the Haslet Armory, at 122 William Penn Street, in Dover.
The draft agenda includes a report on the recently completed Delaware GIS Conference and updates on planned orthophotography and the ongoing GIS strategic planning project. The Executive Council will discuss a possible gis.delaware.gov web site and possible data partnerships with the Department of Homeland Security and with private sector actors.

Now that we’ve dug ourselves out from the blizzards of 2010, we are pleased to announce that the 2010 Delaware GIS Conference has been rescheduled for March 29 and 30.
The Conference, which had been scheduled for February 9 and 10, would probably have been snowed-out by the storm of February 5 and 6, but the storm of February 9 and 10 came along to make sure that we all stayed home.

Because of the heavy snow that fell on February 5 and February 6, which is still snarling travel in Delaware today, and because more snow (and maybe freezing rain) is forecast for February 9 and February 10, the Conference Planning Committee has decided to postpone the 2010 Delaware GIS Conference.
A new set of conference dates will be announced later this week. They will likely be in March. Please stay tuned for updates over the next few days.
And please stay safe and warm and off the roads unless a) you need to go out, and b) you know what you are doing when driving in this sort of thing.
